The Bank of East Asia

Cyberbanking Security Notice

To enhance our commitment to online security, we are implementing enhanced layers of protection on user authentication. You will experience minor changes when you log into your Cyberbanking account after July 25, 2012. These changes are listed below.

What to expect when you first logon to your Cyberbanking account after July 25, 2012

You will be prompted to choose an image as your Site Key

After entering your Cyberbanking ID, you will be asked to enter your password and you will see a random image displayed on this window. After you have logged in, you will be prompted to select your own image. You will be able to browse using the "Prev" and "Next" buttons to select your image. Once you choose your image, select submit.

You will be prompted to choose 3 security/challenge questions

A security-setting window will appear describing the new security features. You will be prompted to continue to choose three so-called "challenge" questions. You will need to provide your personal answers to all three questions and confirm to save them.

You will be prompted to register your computer

Each time you log into Cyberbanking from a different computer, you will be asked if you wish to register it. By registering your computer, you will no longer have to answer challenge questions when you log into your account using that computer. Accordingly, you should never register a public access computer.

Future logins

Each time you log in after the initial setup, you will be asked to enter your Cyberbanking ID. If you have registered the computer, you will see a screen that displays your Site Key and asks for your password. The Site Key tells you that you have reached the genuine login page for Cyberbanking. If the Site Key is correct, enter your password. If it is not correct, do not enter your password and notify us immediately.

If you have not registered your computer, once you enter your User ID, you will be asked a set of challenge questions. If you answer correctly, you will see the screen that displays your Site Key and be asked for your password. If the Site Key is correct, enter your password. If it is not correct, do not enter your password and please notify us immediately.

If you answer the challenge questions incorrectly, you will be asked another set of challenge questions. If you answer the challenge questions incorrectly again, you will be asked a third time. If you fail on all 3 chances, your Cyberbanking account will be blocked. You will need to contact us to reset your account.

You will need to follow the steps described above in order to continue using your Cyberbanking service. If you have any questions, please contact us at (212) 219-8288, or visit our Cyberbanking security page at www.hkbea-beany.com
